| Subhi Toma is a sociologist. Former political prisoner in Iraq, he was granted the status of refugee in France. Opposing the Saddam Hussein regime, he is known for having initiated in the 1990’s several actions aimed at breaching the blockade against Iraq, for instance "A Plane for Iraq". He is one of the main initiators of actions against the occupation of Iraq and for the defense of political prisoners. He is among the founding members heading the Arab National Congress. |  |
